The circulatory system is formed by the set of organs and blood vessels (veins and arteries) that carry blood from the organs to the heart and from the heart to the organs.
Arteries carry blood from the heart to the rest of the body, and veins carry blood from the body to the heart. The circulatory system carries oxygen, nutrients, and hormones to the cells and removes waste products like carbon dioxide. Blood’s path always goes in the same direction.
