Sublimation is the change of a solid into a gas. It takes place when solids absorb enough energy to completely overcome the forces of attraction between them.
An example of sublimation occurs when meteorites come into contact with our atmosphere. Due to the high speed at which they travel, they evaporate upon entering the Earth’s atmosphere.
