The mesosphere is a layer of the Earth’s atmosphere located above the stratosphere and below the thermosphere.
It extends from approximately 50 kilometers in altitude to around 85 kilometers. In this layer, temperature decreases as altitude increases, reaching extremely cold temperatures.
The mesosphere is known for being the layer where luminous phenomena called “polar night lights” occur, and it is also the place where meteoroids enter and disintegrate, creating beautiful shooting stars in the sky.
