Hello Teachers and Families! Here you have a new math resource: the roman numerals worksheets. These activities are perfect for the first lessons with roman numerals. Roman numerals originated, as the name might suggest, in ancient Rome. There are seven basic symbols: I, V, X, L, C, D and M. The first usage of the symbols began showing up between 900 and 800 B.C. The numerals were very important in the ancient Rome society because it was used as a method of counting, to communicate or to trade.
Roman numerals are essentially a decimal or “base 10” number system and the Roman Empire used it. The use of Roman numerals continued long after the decline of the Roman Empire. The importance of this system in history makes it essential in our society, that is the reason why Primary Education children need to learn about them.
