Non-Commutative Property: If we change the order of the numbers in a division, the result will be altered. 10 ÷ 2 = 5, but 2 ÷ 10 = 0, 2

Non-Associative Property: If we break down one or all of the numbers in a division, the quotient or result may change. (200 ÷ 10) ÷ 5 = 20 ÷ 5 = 4, but it is different from 200 ÷ (10 ÷ 5) = 200 ÷ 2 = 100

Distributive Property: The distributive property of division is valid when breaking down the dividend. For example: 400 ÷ 10 = 200 ÷ 10 + 200 ÷ 10

Zero divided by any number equals zero: for example, “0 : 7 = 7”.

Exact Division Property: Exact division is when the dividend is equal to the divisor times the quotient. For example: 10 ÷ 2 = 2 x 5

Inexact or Whole Division Property: That is: D= d x c + r. For example: 30 ÷ 7 = 4 (remainder = 2); therefore, divisor times quotient plus remainder equals = 7 x 4 + 2 = 28 + 2 = 30 (dividend).
