Good morning super teachers! Today we want to update our website with a new free educational resource for you. As you know, it is so important to learn and get familiar with the geometric shapes. This is a learning process that starts when the kids are 2-3 years old. The beginning of this process is recommended to start with “Bit” cards. Once the children are familiarized with the shapes they can start doing this kind of activity we offer here.
This material contains a total of 36 different cards. The goal is to discover the relation between the shape and one of the drawings. The cool part about this activity is the connection with a real context and the fact that kids can learn the relation between shapes and real objects. This resource works 6 different shapes and they are: circle, triangle, square, rectangle, oval and rhombus.
We recommend you to print them in a DINA4 size and laminate every card separately, so they can last longer. Appart from that, you can use a clothespin to make the children choose the correct object option. The good thing of using a clothespin is that you’re working other different skills at the same time, such as fine motor skills.
