Interrogative sentences are used for making questions and requests. They require an answer and their final punctuation is always a question mark (?).
The form of an interrogative sentence is:
- In closed questions:
Auxiliary verb + Subject + Main verb + Complement + ? - In open questions:
WH- word + Auxiliary verb + Subject + Main verb + ?
There are four types of questions:
- Yes or no questions.
- Wh- questions.
- Choice questions.
- Tag questions.
