Hi Teachers and Families! Today I want to share with you a fun and interactive way to teach your students about emotions. We’ve created a resource that is fun, hands-on, and different. Your students will love it!

This material contains 23 pages to work on eight different emotions, which are the following: happy, sad, surprised, angry, calm, funny, scared, and nervous. This resource offers two different versions: a boy version and a girl version.

Each sheet contains a definition of the emotion at the top. The fun part is that the child reads it, then guesses which one it is and attaches the face that represents that emotion and the correct word.

Emotions included in this printable:

  • Happy
  • Sad
  • Surprised
  • Angry
  • Calm
  • Funny
  • Scared
  • Nervous

How to use this material?

To use this resource, the first thing you need to do is prepare it. It’s very easy to prepare; you just need to print all the material in letter size, and then laminate it to make it resistant and durable. Next, you need to stick Velcro on the children’s faces and the different emotional expressions. You should also stick Velcro on the lower part of the cards, where the names of the different emotions will be placed.

Once the material is ready, you can use it in countless ways. One option is that, in groups, the students can read the definitions and match the emotion (the face) and the name of the emotion at the bottom. They can also play in teams and keep score. It’s honestly a super versatile resource that you can use in the way you think will work best with your students.
