Hey Teachers! We’ve created the cutest passport for your students. It is a way to motivate your pupils with a point system that will engage the children through every unit. It is also a good way to check how the cooperative group work is going and to teach them to analyze their own learning process and give them tips to improve when working with others.
This point system is recorded with miles, similar to an airline company system. Every week, the teacher will tell every group of students the amount of miles that they have reached. Every group will have an amount of miles in every task or activity. The teacher is the one who decides the scale of miles in every task.
To prepare this cooperative passport we recommend you to print every page individually and in a DINA-4 size. Once you have it, you will bend and glue every back part to each other, creating something similar to a small notebook.
We hope you like this free resource!
Why cooperative activities are so important?
This cooperative passport activity is not all about earning miles. It will share some of the most important lessons to the kids. This will be one of the very first group activities that your kids will engage with. Hence, you will be able to make the group activity more interesting with the cooperative passport.
This cooperative activity is in a position to create positive relationships among students. These relationships can deliver numerous benefits for the students as well. For example, students will be able to become a part of a learning community, which would value diversity. The kids will be able to understand how to work with others and how to rely on others, so that they will be able to achieve the goal without facing any struggles. Moreover, all the students will be able to keep a clear understanding in mind about the important role played by them in a group activity and how their contributions can create an impact on the overall outcome.
During the cooperative passport activity, students will be motivated to help each other. Likewise, the students will also understand the importance of relying on others to get the help and support they need as well. All the students will have a clear understanding on how to translate the language of the teacher into student language. Moreover, the students will be able to strengthen the learning experiences on their own.
This kind of activities taking place on a regular basis will be able to assist the students to prepare for exams and ensure better performance. In the meantime, the miles secured in the passport will deliver a sense of achievement to each and every kid. This will create an ideal environment for the buildup of self-esteem.
