Gases are part of aggregation states of matter. Gaseous elements behave very differently from other elements under certain conditions of temperature and pressure.

What Is A Gas

The gas molecules interact with each other in a fragile way. This means that they are not capable of forming molecular bonds. Due to this circumstance, the gases adopt the shape and volume of the container containing them. In addition to that, they also tend to separate, which means they expand or dissipate as much as possible due to their high concentration of kinetic energy.

Gases are characterized by being a type of highly compressible fluid. They can be highly compressed (like a diver’s air cylinders), and they experience large changes in density with changes in pressure and temperature.
