The perimeter is the distance around the outside of a 2D shape, space, or area. The perimeter of a form is determined by adding the length of all its sides.
To calculate the perimeter of a regular shape, it is easier to multiply the number of sides by the length of one side. However, to calculate the perimeter of an irregular shape, we use the general formula (Perimeter = sum of all sides).
The perimeter calculation has numerous practical applications, especially for architecture, engineering, and construction. For example, we use the perimeter to calculate the edges or border of a space or an object, such as a piece of land or a building.
