A river is a fresh watercourse that flows across the earth’s surface into a larger body of water, usually a sea. The flow of a river moves downhill due to gravity and tries to reach the seas or oceans since these are the ones that are “at sea level” in the lowlands.
All rivers are necessary elements for living beings, which require fresh water to survive. This is ensured by the water cycle, of which rivers form a vital part. Rivers are watercourses; they follow their way along a channel and therefore do not remain static but rather move and produce energy. They are also “landscape sculptors.”
