Vaccines are medical products that give you immunity against a certain disease. Most vaccines are injectable. However, some are administered orally or by spraying through the nose.
When you get vaccinated, your immune system produces antibodies just as it would against the real virus or bacteria; however, the vaccine only injects weakened or killed virus, which does not develop the disease but prepares your body.
Vaccines work as follows:
- They inoculate the weakened or dead virus or bacteria into your body.
- Your body notices its presence and generates antibodies to fight against this virus or bacteria.
- After facing this virus or bacteria, your body can remember it and can fight and destroy it if you come into contact with it.
