A fetus is the stage of development of a human being from approximately the ninth week of gestation until the moment of birth.

During this period, all major structures and organs of the human body are formed and grow. The fetus is located within the mother’s uterus and is nourished through the umbilical cord, receiving oxygen and nutrients from the mother.

As the pregnancy progresses, the fetus becomes more active and develops distinctive features such as limbs, sensory organs, and a developing nervous system. At the end of the fetal period, the baby is ready to be born and continue its growth outside the uterus.
